Description

The village of Costello is on the main Galway to Carraroe road, close to Carraroe.  It’s name ‘Casla’ means sea inlet., the headquarters of RTE Radió na Gaeltachta is located here.  This village lies beside Clynagh Bay. (Casla) Costello is situated along the Wild Atlantic Way with spectacular sea, river and mountain views overlooking the Twelve Bens mountain range, here you will find picturesque piers and secluded coves to sunbathe, swim or fish. Continuing onto Screebe a small village in Connemara,  it was the location of one of Irelands few peat-burning power stations.  This was a source of employment locally at the time.  Screebe is elegant and unasuuming, in a beautifully picturesque setting overlooking Camus Bay it has hospitality and beauty in spades.  After Sceebe you continue onto Clifden where this section ends.
